How to clean painted walls

Painted walls are lovely and give a fresh, clean feel to a home but after a while, all sorts of marks will start to appear. The areas that are particularly prone to marks will be the stairs and hallways as people tend to touch the walls as they walk past. Don’t worry these are easy to remove with a few nautral produts.

Recipe

  • Water
  • 50/50 Liquid Castile soap and water with added essential oil in a spray bottle. Just shake and spray the soap will remove the build up dirt and grim.
  • Bicarb soda can be used if you need a little scouring power to complete the task.
  • Cloths — lots of soft clean cloths so you don’t damage the paint work.

Cover the affected area with a light spray of the soap and water mix to see if you can wipe the mark away. If this does not work then make a thick paste with bicarb soda and water. Smear a little of this mixture over the area that is marked and wipe gently off with a damp cloth. It is always advisable to do this first on a small area that is normally out of sight. Like eveything test first on any clenaing project.
